Jessica’s Wild Kingdom Maternity Shoot

I first met Jessica a couple years ago at a wedding.  She was a bridesmaid.  I was the photographer.  At the time I was taken by her beautiful smile and sweet personality.  It wasn’t until the wedding was almost over that I realized we went to the same high school!  We live in such a tiny world!

She and her husband, James, struck me as one of those perfectly well-balanced, fun-loving couples.  James, from England, with his boisterous character, towering stature and warm heart mirrors the beauty of his wife.  While her tiny frame may pale in comparison to that of her husband’s (James is close to 6′ 7″), the strength of her character, sense of humor and caring nature elevate her to a place where they stand eye-to-eye and all that remains is love.

Jessica reached out to me toward the end of her pregnancy just as she was completing Daisy’s nursery.  She wanted to spend the day in York, Maine where we could visit York’s Wild Kingdom.  Of course, no trip to the zoo would be complete without plenty of animal pictures!  A perfect addition to a jungle themed nursery!

The best part about Jessica’s chosen location… the beach was directly across the street!
It provided the perfect opportunity to play in the ocean and capture some fine art styled images!

I’m so thrilled that I can share the happy news!
Daisy May was born this past Wednesday, August 3rd at a very healthy 9 lbs. 8 oz!
Both Mom and Baby are doing extraordinarily well!
Congratulations to Jessica and James on becoming Parents!
Daisy is one lucky little lady!

Mandy’s Fine Art Maternity Shoot

There is nothing more radiant than a woman on the eve of giving birth.  I’m not certain if it is the sense of peace or the sparkle in a soon-to-be Mother’s eye that sources that radiance or, if it is the spirit of the little one she protects so lovingly inside.  Either way, it is impossible to deny such extraordinary beauty.

Mandy wanted to create an image that not only captured this incredible moment in her life but that also reflected the true beauty of motherhood.  So, we decided to get creative and design a fine art portrait.  I was thrilled when Mandy gave me free license and let me run wild with my idea!

We were so fortunate in the scheduling of our session as Mandy welcomed a beautiful baby boy just 4 days later!

I love these next two images!
